In 2016 AE global (formerly Allpipe Engineering) have realised considerable growth within their organisation. AE global have focused and targeted the pharmaceutical industry with their ‘Manufacturers and Constructors’ business delivery model in the Mechanical, Process, Electrical & Instrumentation (MPE&I) markets, this focus has culminated in AE global winning a £4.6 million GBP Mechanical and Process (M&P) project for the pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline in the UK. AE global MD Kieran Connor returned to run the family business in 2016 and his focus on this new sector has seen the company become one of the largest employers in the North West. AE global are now looking to explore opportunities in Southern Ireland within the pharmaceutical sector. Kieran states that “Southern Ireland has a huge pharmaceutical and bio-pharmaceutical market that I believe we here in the North West are strategically poised, from a competitive perspective, to service and grow, in the pre and post Brexit era”.
“Sustainable growth is about people,” continues Kieran.
“Our connection with our local schools and further education and training facilities on both sides of the border are key elements in fueling our growth. Each year we take up to six Mechanical and Electrical apprentices from school leavers age from Northern and Southern Ireland. We are engaged with the High Level Apprenticeship (HLA) scheme in conjunction with the North West Regional College here in Derry, we also actively work with FAS in Letterkenny in TIG welding training of perspective candidates for our industry and recently an engagement with the Knowledge Transfer Partnerships programme (KTP) scheme has led us to the start of a process of developing an innovative database that takes AE global’s product from the ‘factory to the patient’ giving their clients full traceability and analytics of what they have manufactured and constructed. During my over 35 years of experience in the pharmaceutical sector I have come to understand that the ultimate endgame is patient care.
“To that end, a seamless and transparent information flow and confidence in Data integrity allows Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q) to obtain MHRA and FDA approvals, which is key. Our models, frameworks and processes utilised in our ™ system facilitates and provides this seamless transition from construction to commissioning to validation and ultimately to the patient.”
AE global also provide MPE&I services for the oil and gas and allied process industries.
