The 2019 Northern Ireland Agribusiness Conference, supported by First Trust Bank and Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, was a busy and insightful day for the local agri-food sector. The line-up included visiting speakers Scott Walker from NFU Scotland and Sally Shortall from Newcastle University. Delegates also heard from local industry experts including Nick Whelan CEO at Dale Farm, Ian Stevenson from LMC and Mary Dobbs of Queen’s University Belfast. The conference focused on looking Beyond Brexit, as well as examining key issues such as rural proofing Northern Ireland, research & development, challenges facing the dairy industry and the impact of agriculture on the environment.
